Homemade Instant Satay & Peanut Sauce

Ingredients :

Meat (cut into small cube/pieces)
Peanut / Ground
Instant Satay Sauce Pack
Instant Satay Marinate Powder Pack
Onion (chop well and serves raw)
Water
Oil

I found 2 pack instant Satay sauce & marinate powder at Giant, thought of want to have a try. So brought it back. and do it on last weekend. Its very troublesome actually, you have to stir-fry the peanut then grind it..This have took me 30 mins and then cook the sauc..finished all in 2 HOURS time! ohh..if someone waiting for this without taking lunch..I think he will be die under hungry already..

I’m not good in using microwave, and cause my satay meat become abit dry. I think is grill using traditional method (just like those roadside stall), should be very tasty one. Because even though I spoiled the Satay meat, but it taste nice too..just have to make you your teeth are strong enough to bite..

1st ~ Stir-fry the raw peanut without oil until golden color and fragrant.

2nd ~ Filter and separate peanut with skin.

3rd ~ Meat cut into cube type and get ready to use.

4th ~ this is the instant satay sauce and satay marinade I bought at supermarket.

5th ~ Marinated meat with satay marinate powder. I added chop well onion.

6th ~Grind peanut until fine.

7th ~ Stir-fry satay sauce powder with oil until fragrant .

8th ~ Add in grind peanut and continue stir fry.

9th ~ Add in plain water and cook about 10 - 20 minutes.

10th ~ skewer the meat with the sticks and grill until cook.

    Hi Msau,

I recommend you to try the instant satay sauce sold by FAMA at Pasar Tani. Very nice. Everything is in, no need to add crushed peanuts anymore. Only add water. I’m not sure still in the market or not cause I bought it 2 years ago when I was back in M’sia.

Hi Lannie, Thanks for drop by my blog. sold by FAMA? what is FAMA? and where is Pasar Tani? :shy: sorry…I didn’t know what is that but really wish buy the instant satay sauce that you recommended. It just too hassle to cook with the step in this post..take too long time to do it.

FAMA = Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority. I know there is a Pasar Tani on every Saturday morning in Kelana Jaya, but I’m not sure Kelana Jaya is nearest to your place. Pasar Tani is like morning market, except the farmer sell their own products instead of going thru wholeseller. Check this out for the location
