CNY Special - Lai Mei Sei Pow (腊味四å®)
Ingredients :
Arrowhead 芽è‡(nga ku)/茨è‡(chee ku)
Preserved Duck Drumstick (Lap Ngap Bei)
Chinese Meat Sausage (Lap Cheong)
Chinese Pork liver Sausage (Yong Cheong)
Chinese Dried Meat (Lap Bing)

1st ~ Cut Arrowhead into slice and place equally on the plate.

2nd ~ Steam Arrowhead for 2 - 3 minutes.

3rd ~ Then add in Chinese Meat Sausage, Chinese Pork liver Sausage & Chinese Dried Meat on the top.

4th ~ I tried to avoid too oily on this dish. The best way was separate the preserved duck.

5th ~ Steam about 5 - 10 minutes. And cut all dried meat into small pieces.
We having this 4 different type of lap mei every year. When I was I love to eat this with plain rice which mix with water. Same like what I have on salted Kampung Fish. I’m still prefer this way to enjoy this Chinese New Year until Now. ![]()

Your dish sounds great! I have another way to steam arrowhead that is so good that you can just eat it with rice and nothing else.
1) Slice the arrowhead just like what you did.
2) Slice the lap cheong and liver lap cheong into thin slices.
3) Cut chinese leek diagonally just like the lap cheong.
4) Toss all 3 ingredients together with light soya sauce( make sure its evenly coated), sesame oil and a good dash of Hua Tiau Chiew, making sure that the lap cheong and the leeks are evenly distributed between the arrowhead slices.
5) Steam on high for about 3-5 minutes or until the lap cheong curls and the arrowheads are softened.
6) Serve with a sprinkling of spring onions. Eat hot with white rice.
Try it out. Let me know how you like it.
